About The Position

The Specialty Care Transport (SCT) Nurse provides required care while transporting patients between designated facilities. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient needs during each encounter and serves as the crew leader of a multidisciplinary care team. The role emphasizes adherence to patient-care standards, high-quality customer service, and positive, patient- and family-centered care that promotes healing and wellness. This is an on-site, per-diem, part-time day-shift position based in Voorhees, New Jersey. The listed hourly rate is $60.05.

Requirements

At least one year of nursing experience.
Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team during patient care.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
ACLS, PALS, and CPR certifications.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
Valid driver's license.
Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) credential.

Nice To Haves

Two years of nursing experience, preferably in an Emergency Department or Critical Care Unit.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Current CCRN or CEN certification.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and provide appropriate treatment according to established protocols and medical command during transports.
Serve as the crew leader on a multidisciplinary care team.
Document patient assessments, treatment, responses to treatment, and transfer of care accurately and completely after every incident.
Respond accurately and efficiently to quality assurance requests.
Manage rapidly changing situations and apply standard precautions and patient safety principles.
Maintain Virtua-owned equipment and property in a safe, clean, and secure manner.
Perform vehicle and equipment checks at the start of each shift.
Ensure the SCTU is ready for service at all times.
