About The Position

This role focuses on guiding squads in Agile development, emphasizing servant leadership, coaching, and continuous improvement. The Scrum Master will facilitate ceremonies, resolve impediments, and ensure transparent communication with stakeholders. The position involves supporting release planning and coordinating code movement across environments. Experience with Agile tools and frameworks, particularly Scrum, is essential. The role also requires coaching Product Owners and squads on backlog management and incorporating customer feedback. Participation in Scrum of Scrums meetings is expected to ensure alignment across teams.

Requirements

  • Experience in Agile Development, with Scrum Master (or similar) experience
  • Previous software development lifecycle experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience or related school coursework experience

Nice To Haves

  • AI experience highly desirable with Kiro, Copilot or any other AI tools
  • Scrum Master certification a plus
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build meaningful relationships with squad members and resolve issues leveraging rapport and trust.
  • Act as an enthusiastic change agent and peer, embracing change to drive continuous learning and process improvements.
  • Seek and act on feedback to bring about positive changes.
  • Understand squad capacity and impediments impacting individual members.
  • Create a team culture that values sustainable execution by not over-committing.
  • Coach the squad to provide input for decision-making to achieve a common goal.
  • Identify and resolve mindset impediments as they arise.
  • Coach the squad with knowledge and expertise, encouraging experimentation for self-sufficiency.
  • Provide role-based coaching and facilitate coaching sessions with the squad.
  • Coach the squad to consider how squad/product vision affects other interacting squads.
  • Create a safe environment for all ceremonies to encourage active participation.
  • Facilitate and mediate conflicts within the squad.
  • Understand Agile and relevant frameworks (e.g., Scrum) to maximize squad success.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Agile tools, techniques, principles, and values and apply this knowledge.
  • Coach PO and squad to maintain a healthy and prioritized backlog with refined user stories.
  • Successfully balance delivery timeframes and continuous iteration to incorporate customer feedback.
  • Ensure accurate and transparent communications to stakeholders with concise metrics and updates on progress, risks, and impediments.
  • Support Product Owner on release planning.
  • Coordinate movement of code between Development, Testing, UAT, and Production environments and all related planning, resourcing, and scheduling activities.
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrums meetings to ensure alignment on priorities, dependencies, and timelines.
