About The Position

Forge is seeking a Scrum Master / Team Coach to support cross-functional teams operating in a secure, cloud-based modernization environment for a DoW customer. This role involves coaching teams in Scrum and SAFe practices, facilitating productive events, removing impediments, strengthening coordination across delivery teams, and utilizing evidence-based improvement practices without assuming the Product Owner's or technical team's accountabilities.   • U.S. Citizen (Authorization to Work in the U.S. will not suffice); previous professional experience supporting the U.S. Federal Government, either as a federal employee or contractor, is required
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including substantial Agile delivery, facilitation, or team-coaching experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent, OR 4 additional years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree
  • Current Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Scrum certification
  • Demonstrated experience coaching cross-functional software teams in Scrum and supporting scaled Agile coordination
  • Experience facilitating conflict resolution, dependency management, retrospectives, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to interpret delivery, flow, quality, and team-health measures and translate findings into practical coaching
  • Active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoW-approved baseline cybersecurity certification, or ability to obtain within the first 30 days of starting
  • Excellent facilitation, written communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
  • Active Tier 2 background investigation or higher, completed or favorably adjudicated within the previous 18 months
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, proposals, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, type, or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Nice To Haves

  • SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, or SAFe Practice Consultant certification
  • Active Secret security clearance preferred; previous professional experience supporting a DoW organization, mission, or customer is strongly preferred
  • Experience coaching multiple interdependent teams in DevSecOps delivery and supporting PI Planning or comparable scaled events
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or comparable Agile lifecycle tools
  • Experience applying systems coaching, organizational change, or team-health assessment techniques

Responsibilities

  • Coach team members in self-management, cross-functionality, shared ownership, and sustainable delivery
  • Ensure Scrum events are purposeful, productive, timeboxed, and focused on inspection and adaptation
  • Help the team focus on valuable increments that meet the agreed acceptance criteria and the Definition of Done
  • Identify, escalate, and drive the removal of impediments, dependencies, and organizational barriers
  • Support Product Owners with Product Goal clarity, backlog refinement techniques, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Facilitate planning, reviews, retrospectives, daily coordination, and cross-team synchronization as appropriate
  • Use flow, quality, predictability, and outcome measures to guide improvement while avoiding metric-driven pressure
  • Coordinate with engineering, testing, security, data, and platform personnel to support integrated DevSecOps delivery
  • Track and communicate team impediments, dependencies, delivery risks, decisions, and improvement actions
  • Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability expectations of the DoW customer environment
  • Identifies and resolves problems promptly; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem-solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
