About The Position

As a Steampunk Scrum Master/Project Manager, you’ll be asked to serve as the Scrum Master on an Agile software development team. You will also be challenged each day with new and complex mission and delivery opportunities as you serve as the team lead of the Steampunk contingent helping deliver a major mission system. This effort leverages Public Sector Foundation - Advanced (PSFA) and integrates systems using MuleSoft.

Requirements

  • Must reside within the DC area.
  • Authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  • 4+ years of experience with Scrum/Kanban Methodologies.
  • 4+ years of experience serving as the Product Owner or Scrum Master.
  • Must have CSM and SAFe certifications.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence.
  • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions.
  • Flexibility to work with teams, individuals and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Experience working in a studio / human centered design approach.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Scrum Master on an Agile software development team.
  • Serve as the team lead of the Steampunk contingent helping deliver a major mission system.
  • Oversee scrum team for key high-priority project for the client.
  • Ensure the team maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery.
  • Lead and manage the members of the Steampunk delivery team contingent.
  • Identify and mitigate risks.
  • Work with key stakeholders/customers to support planning and delivery of technical IT development Agile projects.
  • Help define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value.
  • Prepare and distribute progress reports.
  • Manage risks and issues.
  • Correct deviations from plans.
  • Perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
  • Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments.
  • Remove roadblocks to their work.
  • Leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for project work.
  • Mentor and develop team members.
  • Support managing customer expectations for project deliverables.
  • Manage stakeholder communications.
  • Help to implement an effective system of project governance.
  • Make sure the teams are effective and focused on their work.
  • Coach the teams in their understanding of the delivery process, the agile mindset, and client values.
  • Coach the team to improve collaboration and self-organization.
  • Help the team use their time wisely and avoid distractions.
  • Make sure team issues are escalated, worked, and resolved.
  • Apply different techniques to facilitate meetings and workshops, create a shared understanding with stakeholders, and engage team-members to produce product and portfolio roadmaps.
  • Perform hands-on project work, including analysis, design and change management, as needed by the project.
