Requirements

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Problem Management: Knowledge of the processes involved in problem control, error control and the production of management information or computer hardware; ability to identify the root cause of problems in a timely and accurate manner and bring them to a successful resolution.
  • Program Management: Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve program objectives.
  • Change Control: Knowledge of the processes and procedures by which a change is identified, evaluated, approved, monitored and documented; Ability to manage changes in the production environment and processes effectively

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of direct Scrum Master / Product Ownership experience working with software engineering teams in an agile environment
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) desired
  • Knowledge of Confluence desired
  • Knowledge of Power BI is desired

Responsibilities

  • Creating and managing the Product Backlog and to ensure everyone knows the priorities
  • Assisting the scrum team to meet the objectives of each sprint
  • Leading the Daily Scrum
  • Maximizing the value of the product and the work of the Development Team
  • Acting as Product Owner for larger, more complex projects with high value to the organization
  • Creating, maintaining and prioritizing the Product Backlog according to business value for the life of the project
  • Communicating Product Backlog priorities to the team
  • Acting as the key decision-maker regarding what features the product will have
  • Responsible for the vision of what is to be built, and conveying that vision to the team
  • Collaborating with Lead Engineers on decomposition of epics and features into user stories that are small enough, or granular enough, to be achieved in a single sprint
  • Negotiating business requirements and their release dates with Product and development teams
  • Conveying the vision and goals at the beginning of every sprint
  • Defect management and prioritization
  • Working closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Making decisions on release dates and content
  • Representing the customer, interfacing and engaging with the customer
