About The Position

This role is for a hands-on Scrum Master/Cutover Lead with a primary focus on the execution of cutover and deployment activities for a Greenfield SAP S/4HANA transformation. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and driving cutover plans, sprint plans, backlogs, user stories, and reporting dashboards. This position requires extensive experience managing large ERP cutovers, leading daily execution calls, and chasing tasks during the cutover phase. The role involves working within an Agile/DevOps environment, facilitating daily stand-ups and scrum calls, identifying and removing roadblocks, managing risks and issues, and collaborating with SI partners and various stakeholders. The candidate must be comfortable with public speaking, real-time decision-making, and developing mitigation plans for project risks. This is a contract position based in Lisle, IL, requiring 4 days per week on-site presence.

Requirements

  • W2 ONLY AND WILLING TO COMMUTE Lisle 4 times per week (Monday-Thursday)
  • ERP IMPLEMENTATION EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
  • Hands-on cutover & deployment execution
  • In-the-weeds PM, not high-level / director-style oversight
  • Strong Agile / Scrum Master experience required
  • Experience managing large ERP cutovers (40–50+ systems & stakeholders)
  • Must run daily execution calls and task‑chasing during cutover
  • Tools: ADO, Jira, Smartsheet, Excel (recent usage required)
  • Requires people and resource management skills to work alongside and also manage cross-functional teams to complete projects
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate a history of success leading teams in a matrixed organization structure as well as success in leading without direct authority
  • 5+ years corporate PM experience completing large scale/complex IT implementations with large/detailed project plans (critical path timelines in Microsoft Project) and directly managing their financial budgets
  • Skilled problem solver and change champion/leader
  • Direct experience managing Greenfield Non-SAP Systems-to-SAP conversion implementations (not SAP- to-SAP conversions) with a high number of RICEFW’s in a complex legacy application ecosystem
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP S/4HANA modules
  • Experienced at seeing/uncovering risks, documenting risks and driving discussions with the SI/Stakeholders to take the appropriate actions to remove or materially reduce risk scenarios
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Experience speaking in large groups and delivering presentations to executive leadership
  • Must be able to take leadership feedback, quickly absorb and make decisions
  • Experience managing IT vendors (System Integrators) adhering to SOW/T&C, scope management and external vendor financials is required
  • Strong experience with Azure Dev Ops (ADO) is required
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of Project Management processes and best practices
  • Track record of implementing large scale and complex IT initiatives and their budgets is required
  • Experience using Agile practices to deliver is a must
  • Strong working knowledge of project finance and best practices is a must
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word is required
  • Proficiency developing detailed project schedules and performing critical path analysis using Microsoft Project is required
  • Proficient in applying established standards, resolving a wide range of complex problems of diverse scope in innovative ways, including problems where precedent may not exist
  • Change Champion with demonstrated history of success leading difficult projects where change is required and be comfortable leading organizational change

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Truck OEM, Heavy Equipment, Bus, or Electric Vehicle space is a plus
  • PMP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma certifications are a plus
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certifications are strongly preferred
  • Agile Certifications (CSM, CSP, etc.) are strongly preferred
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Azure DevOps (ADO) is a plus
  • Master of Business Administration preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt training and/or certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Create and drive cutover plans (pre/during/post)
  • Create and drive sprint plans, backlogs, and user stories
  • Create and drive dashboards and burndown reporting
  • Manage large ERP cutovers (40-50+ systems & stakeholders)
  • Run daily execution calls and task-chasing during cutover
  • Lead the implementation of a Greenfield SAP S/4HANA transformation
  • Coordinate and lead IT efforts to drive deliverables to closure
  • Work within an Agile/DevOps environment, utilizing tools like ADO or Jira for reporting, dashboards, and queries
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, scrum calls, and other checkpoints
  • Ensure alignment between legacy teams, IT leads, and product owners
  • Identify and remove roadblocks
  • Manage risks and issues
  • Guide teams through the project management lifecycle
  • Validate data formats and ensure data extraction meets requirements
  • Collaborate with SI partners like PWC, directing legacy teams to appropriate leads
  • Initiate, Plan, Execute, Control and Close multiple simultaneous IT Projects
  • Apply the International IT process and lead cross-functional teams to complete tasks and deliverables according to the project schedule: on time, with quality and within budget
  • Manage all project processes including interdepartmental meetings, technical/functional resource identification and allocation, feasibility and impact assessments, development of detailed project plans/schedules/budgets, project timeline and progress tracking, budgetary month over month forecast/actuals updates, change control process, management of required SDLC documentation to define project requirements, training, interdepartmental communications for implementation readiness and any other project activities needed to ensure on-time delivery within budget constraints
  • Select, develop and evaluate team resources to ensure efficient operation of the project and its goals
  • Coordinate work performed by both internal staff and external partners
  • Develop detailed project scope, budget and schedules based on intent from leadership
  • Work autonomously to drive the proper process/documentation/tools needed to motivate to accomplish goals to make each project a success
  • Identify, evaluate, document and develop mitigation plans for project risks and issues
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Follow through on corrective action implementation
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes
  • Instruct, coach or provide informal guidance to other professionals or colleagues with less experience
