About The Position

Under the general supervision of a registered nurse, provides nursing care and completes tasks delegated for all categories of patients served. Utilizes patient's individualized plan of care in providing care and collecting data relating to patients needs and response. Provides care in accordance with Houston Healthcare's Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, standards of care and standards of performance. Required to take call.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or is currently enrolled and in good standing in their last quarter of scrub tech program.
• One (1) year scrub tech experience. Education may substitute for Experience.
• Current AHA/ARC BLS certification.
• Must obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Joint Destination Center of Excellence Policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care and completes tasks delegated for all categories of patients served.
• Utilizes patient's individualized plan of care in providing care and collecting data relating to patients needs and response.
• Provides care in accordance with Houston Healthcare's Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, standards of care and standards of performance.
• Utilize surgical instruments, supplies and necessary equipment during surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and ensure safe, quality patient care during the operative procedure.
• Utilize personal protective equipment, such as gloves, gown and mask, etc.
