About The Position

We're excited to welcome a caring, detail-oriented Scrub Tech PRN to our surgical team at WMC! This role is a vital part of creating a smooth and safe experience in the OR. With every procedure, you'll help support our surgeons and patients by keeping things running efficiently, maintaining a sterile environment, and being ready with exactly what's needed - often before it's even asked for.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
• Experience required

Nice To Haves

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field before and during surgical procedures
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and provide assistance as necessary
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles used during procedures
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to infection control and patient safety
