About The Position

The Certified Surgical Scrub Technician/First Assist (CST/FA) provides patient care through the application of relevant skills. The CST/FA works under the direct supervision of the surgeon and collaborates with care team members, physicians, and the patient and family to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The role has access to confidential patient information and makes decisions in collaboration with others. The position works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager; when functioning in surgery, the individual works under the supervision of a physician who is readily available.

This is a part-time position at 60%, working three days per week on days, in the Adena Waverly Surgical Department. The role is part of a collaborative clinical team focused on patient relationships and technical excellence.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent, with Surgical Technology as the major or area of concentration.
• Current certification as a Certified First Assist (CFA or CSA).
• Current CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Certification in First Assisting.

Nice To Haves

• Three to five years of surgical technician experience.
