Scripted Producer

early mediaAustin, TX

About The Position

Early Media is a media company creating and distributing groundbreaking digital series. We craft narratives with real viral potential and mass appeal while preserving the heart of indie production, telling meaningful stories audiences actually care about. Every creative decision is sharpened by a proprietary testing and marketing engine that collapses the distance between producer and consumer into the tightest iteration loop in the industry. We're hiring a Scripted Producer to own individual series from pre-production through final delivery, while simultaneously helping build the infrastructure and standards that will power our scripted department. The playbook doesn't exist yet. You'll be doing real producing work while helping write it. If you've ever wanted to shape a production department, not just operate within one, this is that opportunity.

Requirements

  • A builder, not just a producer. Energized by creating infrastructure, not just running it.
  • 4-7 years of producing experience in scripted television, film, or high-volume digital/streaming content.
  • Track record taking scripted projects from development through delivery independently, across multiple formats or lengths.
  • Strong budget management; knowledge of where costs hide.
  • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to create structure where there isn't any.
  • Experience managing junior production staff including coordinators and assistants.
  • Experience producing multiple simultaneous projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at an early-stage or startup production company where you've built infrastructure alongside producing.
  • Background producing content in social-first, short-form, or digital formats.
  • Existing relationships with writers, directors, or department heads in the scripted space.
  • Familiarity with production management tools (Wrapbook, Movie Magic Budgeting and Scheduling).
  • Understanding of how vertical, social-first content goes viral.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned series from kickoff through delivery; timelines, budgets, crew, and day-to-day logistics with minimal oversight.
  • Manage pre-production: breakdowns, scheduling, budgeting, location scouting, crew and vendor coordination.
  • Manage the relationship between the creative team and Production leadership.
  • Contribute to department infrastructure: workflows, templates, and systems that can scale as the slate grows.
  • Cultivate talent relationships: writers, directors, and crew members worth building long-term connections with.
  • Provide a creative perspective on projects.
