About The Position

Skydance Animation is looking for an experienced Script Supervisor to be the keeper of the master production script on a new feature film. They will attend scratch and production dialogue records and consistently track and update revisions in real-time. The Script Supervisor must have excellent organizational skills, ability to manage shifting priorities, and managerial experience. This position requires strong and constant attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Script Supervisor on an animated feature production
  • Managerial experience in an animation production setting
  • High proficiency with Final Draft and Microsoft Office
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Quick identification of changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team-oriented setting
  • Must be a knowledgeable and effective communicator throughout the production pipeline
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong level of discretion and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the Writer(s) schedule and delivery priorities with goals set by production leadership, keep on-task, assist in casting for scratch, and building character descriptions for casting/marketing packets
  • Central hub and point-person for master production script; act as “guardian†of development and script material
  • Closely partner alongside Director, Producers, Writers, Editors with understanding position’s significance in supporting production
  • Regularly incorporate all approved notes and changes to script material
  • Attend applicable meetings and Director reviews for script and story revisions
  • Track specific Writer contribution for appropriate crediting
  • Supervise and mentor Production Coordinators and Assistants, manage workflow and logistics for department
  • Manage and implement the master VO schedule along with the Casting and the Post Production Supervisor
  • Attend Production dialogue recording sessions, update script with review notes, prep and distribute recording materials for Talent, Director, and other attendees
  • Track dialogue recording status and provide summaries including outstanding character line count to production leadership and Editorial
  • Update Producers with all notable story and script changes as they occur
  • Notation and communication to Editorial of Director’s preferred takes (line readings)
  • Track scratch dialogue based on story deliveries, script revisions, and director and/or editor requests
  • Create an archival “milestones†conformed script after every story reel screening
  • Liaise with Legal to ensure scripted material is within established copyright guidelines
  • Provide critical attention to security of distributed scripted material
