About The Position

As part of the Medical Scribe program at Vituity, this role is vital in supporting physicians and health care providers, offering first-hand knowledge and practical experience in the field. Vituity operates across 890 practices, serving 14.5 million patients annually, with scribe opportunities in units such as the Emergency Department, Intensivist Care, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical. This position offers undergraduates or post-baccalaureate students pursuing healthcare careers firsthand exposure to a clinical setting, making it an excellent opportunity for those taking time off before Medical, PA, or NP school. Scribe hours count towards clinical training for most PA and medical school programs. The role involves working one-on-one with physicians and other healthcare providers, allowing individuals to become proficient in medical terminology. It also provides outstanding networking and resume-building opportunities, with connections to scribe alumni for mentorship.

Requirements

• Responsible and mature demeanor with a passion for medicine
• Strong writing skills
• Quick and accurate typing speed
• Ability to work 2-3 shifts per week (including weekends and a holiday)
• Ability to stand, walk and follow a physician for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment
• 1 year commitment at this site
• Excellent follow through
• Self-motivated
• Completion of scribe application test is required

Nice To Haves

• Experience with medical terminology, human anatomy and human physiology is preferred
