Scribe, Part Time - Urgent Care
About The Position
The Scribe supports physicians and care teams in a fast-paced urgent care setting. The role involves assisting with basic patient care and medical procedure setups, facilitating diagnostic tests and specialist referrals through Aftercare, and communicating with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under physician guidance. The Scribe provides compassionate care, helps maintain a clean and professional environment, and may assist with training and acclimating new scribes. The position requires managing at least two patients per hour on average and three to four patients per hour during surge periods, while sustaining the pace of an 8–12-hour scheduled shift except for meal and break times. Heavy computer use is required.
Requirements
- High school degree or GED.
- Friendly and professional demeanor with excellent bedside manner.
- Computer and typing skills, with a minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute.
- Flexible with the full-time work schedule, including weekends.
- Passion for helping others in an urgent care environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
- Bilingual language skills may be required depending on the site location.

Responsibilities
- Manage a minimum of two patients per hour on average, and three to four patients per hour during surge periods.
- Maintain a quick pace throughout the scheduled urgent care shift, except for meal and break times.
- Facilitate diagnostic tests, such as CT, MRI, and ultrasounds, and referrals to medical specialists for follow-up care via Aftercare.
- Provide compassionate care to patients.
- Assist physicians with basic patient care and medical procedure setups.
- Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.
- Help maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.
- Assist with training and acclimating new-hire scribes.
