Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude demonstrated through hands-on experience, vocational technical training, or related coursework (e.g., auto mechanics, maintenance, or manufacturing technology).
  • Direct, hands-on setup experience with Davenport or other multi-spindle screw machines is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume metal manufacturing, fabrication, or machining environment.
  • Proficiency in using and interpreting precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
  • The ability to accurately interpret basic engineering blueprints or schematics.
  • The ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift and/or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds (assistance provided for heavy lifts).
  • A great attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent attendance record are non-negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive setups, tooling changes, and adjustments on Davenport Screw Machines to produce precision parts meeting exact specifications.
  • Analyze and resolve complex machine and programming issues swiftly to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
  • Use precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, indicators) to perform First Article and in-process inspections, ensuring adherence to engineering blueprints and quality standards.
  • Strictly follow all manufacturing processes, procedures, and documentation related to machine operation and part inspection.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work effectively within a team structure, demonstrating flexibility with rotating assignments and cross-training as needed.
