About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating industrial machinery or working in a manufacturing or recycling environment.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Technical skills daily to operate and monitor machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring that scrap materials are processed correctly.
  • Attention to detail is essential for accurately sorting materials and maintaining precise records, which supports inventory management and regulatory compliance.
  • Communication skills are important for coordinating with team members and reporting any safety or quality concerns promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain scrap processing equipment such as shears, balers, and conveyors in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Sort and segregate scrap materials based on type, quality, and recycling requirements to ensure proper handling and disposal.
  • Inspect scrap materials for contaminants or hazardous substances and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain detailed logs of scrap quantities, types, and processing activities to support inventory and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with production and quality control teams to identify opportunities for reducing scrap generation and improving recycling rates.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
