About The Position

Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business seeking a Scrap Crane Operator to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient yard operations by sorting scrap materials, loading trucks and balers, and operating E-crane or crawler crane equipment to ensure smooth material flow. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for this position.

Requirements

• 2 plus year's experience operating mobile or crawler cranes (Liebherr, Sennebogen or Link-Belt)
• Knowledge of scrap metal types and grading
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently
• Basic math, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support others
• Ability to follow and communicate instructions clearly
• Ability to meet physical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Sort scrap materials by type and quality
• Operate E-crane or crawler crane to load trucks, railcars, and balers
• Move crane equipment throughout the yard as needed
• Maintain material flow by cleaning out scrap spreads
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a team-focused environment
• Support continuous improvement efforts across yard operations
