About The Position

The Scrap Auditor is responsible for carrying out the segregation, compaction, and handling of scrap and recyclable materials such as cardboard and plastic. This role ensures compliance with safety standards and maintains a clean and organized work area, contributing to the overall efficiency of the recycling process. The position requires the ability to work extra hours and shifts as needed, including up to 6 days a week, and involves cross-training and job rotation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work extra hours or shifts based on customer production requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Cross-training and job rotation are required.
  • Must be available to work 6 days a week.
  • Forklift operation.
  • Basic use of compactors / balers.
  • LOTO knowledge.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 15lbs on a frequent basis, and up to 50lbs with assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months in material handling in a manufacturing environment or industrial recycling.

Responsibilities

  • Compact cardboard and plastic as required.
  • Segregate parts and runners according to resin type.
  • Regrind material based on resin classification.
  • Remove clips or non-recyclable components from materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S methodology.
  • Perform periodic cleaning of the grinder.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack as needed to move materials.
  • Organize materials inside trailer boxes.
  • Audit scrap bins to validate information according to scrap records.
  • Follow instructions from the Scrap Coordinator.
  • Provide general support for area needs.
