About The Position

The SCO PSC/MA Float provides flexible clinical and administrative support across multiple departments at a healthcare facility in Northridge, California. The role supports seamless patient care and operational efficiency by adapting to changing assignments, assisting with patient intake and clinical procedures, and completing administrative tasks. The position contributes to patient experience and helps healthcare professionals deliver quality care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
At least one year of experience in a clinical or healthcare support role.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to different departmental needs.
Strong communication skills, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Medical Assistant certification program.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited organization.
Experience in a multi-specialty healthcare environment.
Familiarity with patient scheduling software and healthcare billing procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills focused on patient-centered care.
Additional certifications, such as phlebotomy or EKG technician.

Responsibilities

Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, vital signs collection, and basic medical procedures.
Perform administrative duties, including patient scheduling, record keeping, and maintaining accurate and timely electronic health records.
Float between primary care, specialty clinics, urgent care, and other departments to meet staffing needs and maintain operational continuity.
Communicate with patients, healthcare staff, and management to coordinate care and promptly resolve issues.
Follow healthcare regulations, safety protocols, confidentiality standards, and institutional policies.
