About The Position

Pace is seeking a Scientist for its environmental testing laboratory. The role involves hands-on analysis to help ensure the integrity and quality of environmental data affecting communities and ecosystems. The Scientist analyzes air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods, reviews the resulting data, maintains laboratory records, and cares for laboratory instruments and equipment. Training is available.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another STEM-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Use instruments such as GC, HPLC, and ICP.
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods.
• Review and interpret sample-analysis results.
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results in organized laboratory records.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
