About The Position

Pace is seeking a Scientist to perform hands-on analysis in an environmental testing laboratory. The role supports the integrity and quality of environmental data that affects communities and ecosystems. The Scientist analyzes air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods, reviews and interprets results, and maintains organized laboratory records. The position involves working with laboratory instruments and keeping them clean, maintained, and calibrated. Training is available. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Compensation is $18.00 per hour; the final offer may depend on geographic location, experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, budget, and organizational guidelines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another STEM-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, and ICP.
Analyze air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods.
Review and interpret sample analysis results.
Accurately document procedures, observations, and results in organized laboratory records.
Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
