About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Scientist I – Metabolite ID and Profiling to join its team in Madison, Wisconsin. The role performs day-to-day technical management of intermediate-complexity studies, developing and applying qualitative LC-HRMS methods to identify metabolites across species and biological matrices. It involves interpreting MS/MS fragmentation pathways for metabolite structure elucidation and applying radiolabeled isotope techniques for metabolite profiling and quantitation. The scientist profiles and elucidates drug-candidate metabolites using LC/MS, radiodetection, and other appropriate techniques. The role designs, conducts, and reports studies that meet scientific, regulatory, and client requirements; reviews project and result validity, sometimes with assistance from more experienced scientists; evaluates data for reports and experimental modifications; and writes comprehensive reports. Project management includes client interaction, and the scientist may co-author scientific papers and posters. Occasional mentorship and guidance are provided to develop general expertise in the field.
