About The Position

Pace is seeking a Scientist to conduct hands-on analysis in an environmental testing laboratory. The role helps ensure the integrity and quality of environmental data that affects communities and ecosystems. The Scientist analyzes air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods, reviews and interprets results, and maintains laboratory instruments and records. Training is available. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Compensation is $19.00 per hour. The stated salary range may reflect geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, budget, and organizational compensation guidelines. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another STEM-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods, work around strong odors, and wear required personal protective equipment, including a lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves.

Responsibilities

Use laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, and ICP.
Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods to identify environmental contaminants.
Review and interpret sample-analysis results.
Accurately document procedures, observations, and results in organized laboratory records.
Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
