About The Position

Pace is seeking a Scientist to perform hands-on analysis in an environmental testing laboratory in Peoria, Illinois. The role supports the quality and integrity of environmental data by analyzing air, water, and soil samples for contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods. The position is full-time and onsite, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation is $17.00 per hour. This is an evergreen posting for future positions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another science-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Use laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, and ICP.
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods.
• Review and interpret sample analysis results.
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results in organized laboratory records.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
