Scientist – Inflammation Research

Amgen•Thousand Oaks, CA

About The Position

The Scientist – Inflammation Research performs in vitro and in vivo experiments to study drug targets, including work with organoid and air-liquid-interface primary cell cultures and mouse models of inflammatory disease. The role also analyzes lung epithelium function, repair, and regeneration and collaborates with a research team across multiple Amgen functional areas. The Scientist generates experimental data for target identification, validation, and progression of inflammation research programs; proposes respiratory disease drug targets using human genetics, experimental findings, and published literature; and uses AI-driven approaches to develop mechanistic insights, refine therapeutic hypotheses, and inform experimental design. The role requires scientific rigor, urgency, and adaptability, and includes publishing and presenting research.
