About The Position

Pace is seeking a Scientist to conduct hands-on analysis in an environmental testing laboratory. The role supports the integrity and quality of environmental data that affects communities and ecosystems. The Scientist analyzes air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods to identify environmental contaminants, reviews and interprets analytical results, maintains organized laboratory records, and cleans, maintains, and calibrates laboratory instruments and equipment. Training is provided. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Compensation is $19.00 per hour; the final offer may depend on geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, budget, and organizational compensation guidelines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another STEM-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Work with instruments such as GC, HPLC, and ICP.
Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods to look for environmental contaminants.
Review and interpret sample analysis results.
Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records.
Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
