About The Position
Pace is seeking a Scientist to perform hands-on analysis in an environmental testing laboratory in Lombard, Illinois. The role supports the quality and integrity of environmental data by analyzing air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods. The Scientist reviews and interprets analytical results, documents procedures and observations, and maintains laboratory instruments and equipment. Training is provided.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another science-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
- Use laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, and ICP.
- Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods to identify environmental contaminants.
- Review and interpret sample analysis results.
- Accurately document procedures, observations, and results in organized laboratory records.
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
