About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Experienced Scientist to join the Translational Research (TR) team within the Gastrointestinal Malignancies Disease Area Stronghold (GIM DAS). In this laboratory-based role, the successful candidate will design, execute, and analyze preclinical experiments that advance TR and DAS objectives, including efforts to deepen understanding of target expression, tumor biology, mechanisms of response and resistance, and rational combination strategies for portfolio compounds in clinical development. The ideal candidate will bring strong scientific rigor and technical expertise, communicate results clearly, and collaborate effectively within a matrixed, cross-functional environment.

Requirements

  • M.S. in a life science discipline with 3+ years of relevant industry experience or B.S. in a life sciences discipline with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven track record of research experience in solid tumor biology and signaling pathways is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in a broad range of cell and molecular biology techniques, such as tissue culture, qPCR, immunoblotting, flow cytometry, ELISA, and cellular functional assays.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot complex experiments, applying sound scientific rigor and appropriate controls.
  • Strong planning and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation (e.g., ELN/lab notebooks), preparation of summaries, and effective presentation of data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a matrix team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with TR/biomarker and lab leads to plan, design, execute, and analyze experiments that advance project and DAS objectives.
  • Independently perform and troubleshoot laboratory workflows to a high scientific standard, delivering high-quality data within established timelines.
  • Communicate findings via clear data summaries and presentations to key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain accurate, timely ELN/lab documentation in alignment with data integrity requirements.
  • Coordinate work with external partners (e.g., CROs/vendors) to execute studies and/or generate reagents.
  • Proactively seek new methods, learn emerging techniques, and apply insights to advance projects.
  • Operate effectively in a matrixed environment by aligning priorities, proactively identifying risks, and enabling on-time delivery through strong collaboration and communication.
