About The Position

The Department of Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism and Bioanalytics (PDMB) is seeking a motivated bioanalytical scientist to support drug discovery and early pre-clinical development. The Scientist executes and troubleshoots quantitative bioanalytical methods for small molecules, peptides, and biologics using LC-MS and ligand binding assay (LBA) platforms, delivering high-quality data to advance the pipeline. The role involves developing, validating, and executing bioanalytical methods; generating data for pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and in vitro studies; preparing biological-matrix samples manually and with automated systems; maintaining laboratory equipment and compliance; and supporting high-throughput workflows through operation and troubleshooting of robotics and automated systems. The position is onsite in West Point, Pennsylvania. The role includes 10% travel and domestic relocation is listed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant laboratory experience, or a master’s degree with 1–2 years of relevant experience, in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience quantitating large molecules or biologics using ligand binding assays.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary scientific teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present scientific data clearly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and standard laboratory software.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis and pharmacokinetic principles.
  • Experience with liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry for quantitative analysis of small molecules and/or peptides in biological matrices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, execute, and troubleshoot quantitative bioanalytical methods using LC-MS/MS, ligand binding assays, and/or hybrid LC-MS/LBA workflows.
  • Generate, analyze, and deliver high-quality bioanalytical data for pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and in vitro studies of small- and large-molecule therapeutics within established timelines.
  • Perform manual and automated sample preparation, including protein precipitation, solid-phase extraction, and immunocapture or affinity purification for biological matrices.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure laboratory operations comply with safety requirements, internal SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support high-throughput workflows by operating and troubleshooting robotics and automated systems.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and other insurance benefits for employees and family.
  • Retirement benefits, including a 401(k).
  • Paid holidays, vacation, compassionate days, and sick days.
  • Eligible for an annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
