Scientist, Microbiome Bioinformatics

Ferring•Roseville, MN

About The Position

The Scientist, Microbiome Bioinformatics develops and supports analytical methods using industry-standard software development practices, and translates large datasets into mechanistic and therapeutic hypotheses through omics analysis. The role applies bioinformatics expertise to biological discovery and analytical advancement in a fast-paced environment. The position designs, develops, tests, deploys, maintains, and runs reproducible genomic workflows for microbiome data analysis, from raw data ingestion through final analytical outputs. It uses CI/CD, containerization, cloud computing, rigorous testing, and DevOps to support research and production goals, while collaborating on the interpretation and translation of bioinformatic insights for R&D, preclinical, and clinical initiatives. The Scientist also maintains data resources, contributes to publications and presentations, and supports project decisions through critical evaluation of primary literature. The role is based in Roseville, Minnesota. Ferring describes its compensation and benefits package as including an annual incentive opportunity and a range of healthcare, retirement, leave, and development benefits.
