About The Position

The Scientist III – Open Access Instrumentation Support is a laboratory-based role that maintains and operates open access liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) instrumentation and performs other tasks as assigned by the client. This is a full-time employee position with Parexel FSP, on a long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. Parexel FSP provides pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies with qualified and talented technical professionals to support the development and delivery of new therapies.

Requirements

  • BS (3-5 yrs.) of relevant experience in analytical chemistry
  • MS (1-2 yrs.) of relevant experience in analytical chemistry
  • Reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC)
  • Experience with Waters, Sciex, or Agilent LC-MS instrumentation and software
  • High resolution mass spectrometry
  • Strong communication and coordination skills

Responsibilities

  • Checks instrument performance and suitability routinely, prepares mobile phases, and performs routine upkeep of walkup liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) instruments.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and records, data/file transfer, etc.
  • Communicate to end-user on status of instruments.
  • Responds to end-user repair calls for LC-MS and troubleshoots/repairs simple issues such as leaks or clogs.
  • Submits and coordinates repair tickets for more complex issues.
  • Assist with purity analysis of investigational compounds by liquid chromatography (LC) and high-resolution mass spectrometry experiments.
  • Support LCM process of Open Access instruments.
  • LC and LC-MS analysis of small molecule samples as needed.
