About The Position

The Scientist in Exploratory R&D will be responsible for process development and improvement. In particular, he/she will be involved in optimization and troubling of cell culture processes, in order to establish a consistent and improved cell culture method for primary cells, hybridoma cell lines and other relevant cell types. This role will also support new product development for cell culture applications, such as media and supplements. Knowledge of process development in small and large scale is a plus.

Requirements

B.S. with more than 12 yrs of biotechnology industry working experience OR M.S. with more than 6 yrs of biotechnology industry working experience OR Ph.D. with 2-4 years or more of biotechnology industry working experience

Nice To Haves

PhD in the life sciences with a minimum of 2-4 years relevant industry experience, preferentially in immunology, cell biology, and/or biotechnology fields, or Master’s Degree and 6 years of relevant experience.
Experience in cell culture medium development and characterization.
Expertise in mammalian cell isolation, expansion and process development as related to cell and gene bioprocessing methods.
Experience with flow cytometry and immunological techniques desired.
Experience working in a GMP environment.
Experience managing and supervising research associates.

Responsibilities

Design and conduct technical, laboratory-based experiments.
Troubleshoot and conduct process improvements of cell culture and related ancillary products in collaboration with R&D, Product Development and Manufacturing teams.
Create ISO compliant documentation and train colleagues on new processes in a GMP environment.
Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, goal-driven settings.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with teams including R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Control.
Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.
