The successful Scientist II acts as a technical lead for the analytical component of client programs. The individual monitors ongoing experiments, identifies or resolves complex technical project issues, and provides technical leadership within the group. Requirements

  • Master's of Science and 3+ years’ experience in an analytical laboratory, OR Bachelor's of Science and 7+ years’ experience in an analytical laboratory OR an entry level position for a PhD degree with no prior experience.
  • Ability to design, execute, and interpret complex laboratory experiments with broad priorities set by the supervisor.
  • Knowledge of chemistry and/or biochemistry and associated lab techniques.
  • Interpret the quality of experimental outcomes and data to effectively draw conclusions and make recommendations regarding project execution.
  • Defining and implementing strategies, initiatives, and actions to improve processes and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and industry standards
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to influence and collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, conducts, evaluates, interprets and reports complex laboratory experiments
  • Identification and resolution of technical project issues.
  • Develops and reviews new analytical methods or PD plans.
  • Independently applies scientific and/or cross-functional knowledge to achieve project goals.
  • Ensures completeness and technical quality of work to ensure the integrity of research.
  • Ensures safety procedures and cultural norms are followed.
  • Familiar with new practices and procedures in relevant literatures and is skilled in finding such procedures/ practices.
  • Trains and provides guidance to lower-level scientists.
  • Provides functional supervision or feedback to scientists and may provide performance feedback to managers
  • Ability to complete technical assignments by designing, executing, and interpreting complex experiments
