The Lewis laboratory in the Department of Biomolecular Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks a Scientist I to support research on chromatin regulation and pediatric brain tumors. Working under the general supervision of the principal investigator (PI), the scientist will conduct assigned molecular and cell-based experiments, collect and analyze data, and maintain accurate experimental records using established procedures. The work includes mammalian cell culture and protein analysis, including Western blotting. Within PI-defined projects, the scientist will assist with experimental planning and troubleshooting, review relevant literature, prepare figures and brief research summaries, and contribute data and methods descriptions for publications and grant applications. The scientist will discuss results with the PI and project collaborators. The PI will establish research priorities and review experimental plans, interpretations, and written materials. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
