About The Position

Join Pace® as a Scientist in an environmental testing laboratory, conducting hands-on analysis to help ensure the integrity and quality of environmental data affecting communities and ecosystems. The work supports Pace’s mission to make the world safer and healthier through scientific innovation and environmental testing. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and pays $16.00 per hour. The final compensation may depend on geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, budget, and organizational compensation guidelines. Training is provided.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another STEM-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to work around strong odors.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves.

Responsibilities

Use laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, and ICP.
Analyze air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods.
Review and interpret sample analysis results.
Document procedures, observations, and results accurately to maintain organized, high-quality laboratory records.
Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
