About The Position

The Scientist I, Chemistry Installation Training & Development is responsible for supporting the Company's chemistry installation training programs and chemistry product development initiatives. This role ensures that customer technical support activities, and Quality Assurance (QA) requirements are met through effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires expertise in radiochemistry, radioisotope production, and nuclear physics to support chemistry installation, process optimization, troubleshooting, and product development activities. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of chemistry training programs and product development processes while ensuring compliance with GMP and ISO 9001 standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related scientific discipline and 1 year of experience required.
  • Experience with various analytical equipment for radioisotope quality control such as chromatography instruments, radiation detectors and spectrometers
  • Experience performing of quality control testing in accordance to standard operating
  • Experience in radioisotope production using
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cyclotron systems and
  • Strong technical understanding of radioisotope production, radiochemical separation, purification processes and radioisotope quality control testing.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and handling practices as well as willingness to learn and comply with Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) requirements.
  • Experience implementing new procedures and executing change orders in accordance to governing quality management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support chemistry installation training activities for customers, ensuring successful implementation, knowledge transfer, and compliance with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Participate in discussions regarding the implementation of new products and technologies, maintaining regular communication with customers to understand and define technical and operational requirements.
  • Serve as an internal technical resource for radiochemistry, radioisotope production, and nuclear-related inquiries, including the interpretation of nuclear data and evaluation of production parameters.
  • Apply theoretical and practical knowledge of nuclear physics and radiochemistry to troubleshoot and optimize production workflows, including isotope yield calculations, decay analyses, radiation shielding assessments, and activation.
  • Support chemistry product development programs through experimental work, process evaluation, data analysis, and validation activities.
  • Contribute to the development, review, implementation, and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical documentation related to chemistry installation, radiochemical processing, and product.
  • Ensure compliance with internal QA/QC programs, ISO 9001 and GMP requirements, regulatory standards, and radiation safety.
  • Assist in root cause investigations, deviation assessments, and risk analyses associated with manufacturing, installation, or product development activities, providing scientific recommendations and corrective actions as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, vendors, and external partners to coordinate installation, training, research, and development activities.
  • Support technology transfer, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
