About The Position

Entegris is currently seeking a Scientist I to join its Analytical & Metrology team in Billerica, MA. This role will be responsible for performing analysis to support membrane R&D and new liquid filtration and purification products development in the Advanced Purity Solution (APS) of Entegris. The role will involve wet chemistry and operating a few analytical tools including DMA, fluorometer, ICP-MS, GCMS, LCMS, etc. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented and an excellent team player, with knowledge of general lab instrument operations and safe handling/disposal of chemicals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in chemistry with background/knowledge in mass spectrometry
  • General lab instrument operations and maintenance experience (DMA, fluorometer, ICP-MS preferred)
  • Basic computer knowledge, including MS office.
  • Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic and collaborative working environment.
  • Detail oriented, able to record/analyze quantitative data and make qualitative observations where required.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of related experience or training preferred
  • Self-motivated, curious and creative problem solver.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis using analytical instruments (DMA, fluorometer, ICP-MS, GCMS, LCMS, etc.), analyze data and communicate results to the team.
  • Update and maintain documentation regarding test procedures and method.
  • Write technical reports and communicate testing status/results verbally and in writing.
  • Drive for continuous improvement of existing testing method.
  • Maintain lab supplies, equipment, and instruments.
  • Support senior level scientists on new method development and technical innovation.
  • Continuous training on various analytical techniques and methods.
  • Testing and analyzing R&D samples, new products, and in-process samples when needed and in a timely manner.
  • Using proper controls for analytical instrumentation, validating/verifying data and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects in parallel.
  • Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient at several analytical techniques.
