AECOM is hiring a Scientist/Geoscientist III to join its Environmental Planning and Permitting team in Anchorage, Alaska. This hybrid position primarily supports National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and permitting projects for federal and private-industry clients, including resource management and energy infrastructure work. The role focuses on environmental analysis and permitting documents, particularly for mining, power producers, and federal land management agencies. The successful candidate will contribute to federal and state environmental documents and permitting activities; assess proposed mining projects for effects on water, geology, soil, and other environmental resources; conduct occasional field studies; prepare technical documents and proposals; and coordinate field activities with project managers, subcontractors, and field staff. The position may follow either a project management or technical support career track, working with senior staff and potentially participating in project management training and certification or technical development. The role requires occasional travel for fieldwork and/or meetings, potentially within the United States. Relocation is not available. US citizenship and a valid driver’s license are required. The position is hybrid, with an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office required for newly hired employees.
