About The Position

Nextonic Solutions is seeking a Scientist to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Institute on Aging (NIA) located in Baltimore, MD. The Scientist will provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute on Aging (NIA), delivering services and deliverables through the performance of support services including basic molecular biology and biochemistry experiments, preparation and analysis of DNA, RNA, and chromatin from cell subsets, basic cell culture, and CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing in cell lines and mice.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required.
  • Ph.D. in a scientific field.
  • Background in Biology.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic molecular biology and biochemistry experiments.
  • Prepare and analyze DNA, RNA, and chromatin from cell subsets.
  • Perform basic cell culture.
  • Design and carry out CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing in cell lines and mice.
  • Update and maintain laboratory notebooks and databases.
  • Attend laboratory meetings and present results and findings to staff.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment.
