About The Position

Our Global Analytical & Material Science team provides the scientific insights and analytical expertise that enable product innovation, ingredient development, and business growth. We are seeking a Scientist, Analytical & Material Science to support research, innovation, and product development initiatives through analytical testing and material characterization. In this role, you will perform laboratory analyses, contribute to method development and validation activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate high-quality scientific data that supports project decision making. This position is an excellent opportunity for an early-career scientist who is passionate about analytical chemistry, material science, and applying scientific principles to real-world product challenges.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Material Science, Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline with 0–3 years of relevant industry experience; or Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline with 4–7 years of experience in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, or related industry.
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry principles and material characterization techniques.
  • Experience with one or more analytical chemistry subdivisions such as chromatography, spectroscopy, microscopy, rheology, thermal analysis, or mass spectrometry.
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when appropriate.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food ingredient characterization and structure-function analysis.
  • Familiarity with method validation, statistical analysis, and laboratory information management systems.
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine analyses of ingredients and solutions, assessing properties such as purity, molecular weight, viscosity and thermal transitions while adhering to all safety, quality and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, optimization, and validation of analytical methods to improve data quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Innovation, product development, and other cross-functional teams to ensure analytical deliverables support project objectives and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records and documentation to ensure data integrity, traceability, and compliance with company standards.
  • Troubleshoot routine laboratory instruments and methods and escalate complex issues as appropriate.
  • Support instrument qualification, maintenance, and acquisition activities when needed.
  • Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and scientific summaries, effectively communicating findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Promote a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
