About The Position
Support the protein outsourcing process and contribute to protein purification and characterization strategies. Manage weekly protein outsourcing assignments. Manage weekly protein receiving, sorting, and distribution. Perform QC analysis on antibodies and proteins. Apply a deep understanding of antibody and protein purification and characterization principles. Routinely perform QC analyses, including but not limited to mass spectrometry, SEC-MALS, analytical HPLC, LAL, SDS-PAGE, and mass photometry. Interact closely with scientists daily, necessitating excellent written and oral communication skills. Explore and apply new techniques and technologies to solve antibody purification and characterization challenges. Contribute to protein purification and characterization method development strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the Biological Sciences with at least 3-4 years of scientific experience, or a Master’s degree in the Biological Sciences with at least 1 - 3 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with protein and antibody analytical methods includes SDS-PAGE, Analytical HPLC, Endotoxin detection, SEC-MALS, and mass spectrometry.
- Experience in protein and antibody purification and characterization includes using AKTA systems.
- Demonstrated track record of working independently in a collaborative team-oriented setting, aligning with group vision and mission.
- Ability to work accurately and with attention to detail, operate efficiently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with other scientific staff.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and scientific software.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Mass Photometry is highly desired.
- A background in Mass Spectrometry is a plus.
- A dedicated team player willing to work within a core facility environment.
