About The Position

Apex Companies is hiring a Project Environmental Scientist for its Northeast Division’s Environmental Team. The role involves environmental sampling, data analysis and interpretation, and support for due diligence and Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) reporting. The position offers opportunities to build a career through field and reporting work, collaboration with staff and management, cross-training, and work on a variety of projects.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience with environmental field sampling, data collection, and report preparation.
Ability to successfully multitask.
Safety awareness and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
Valid driver's license, good driving history, and reliable transportation.
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Nice To Haves

40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Light construction experience or hands-on skills.

Responsibilities

Collect soil, water, and/or air samples using different sampling techniques.
Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
Assist with due diligence projects, including ASTM Phase I and Phase II assessments.
Assist with MCP-based reports, including Immediate Response Action reports, Comprehensive Response Action reports such as MCP Phase I through Phase V, and Permanent Solutions.
Take an active role in career development through opportunities to assist with field and reporting tasks.
Work directly with staff and management-level team members on field and reporting responsibilities.
