About The Position
Pace is seeking a Scientist 1 to conduct hands-on analysis in an environmental testing laboratory in Peoria, Illinois. The role supports the quality and integrity of environmental data by analyzing air, water, and soil samples for contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods. The position is full-time and onsite, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Training is provided.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another science-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
- Use laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, and ICP.
- Analyze air, water, and soil samples for environmental contaminants using established chemistry and biochemistry methods.
- Review and interpret sample analysis results.
- Document procedures, observations, and results accurately to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records.
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
