Scientist 1, Bioanalytical - Contract

Nurix•Brisbane, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

Nurix Therapeutics is seeking a motivated Scientist 1 to join its Bioanalytical team and support drug discovery programs involving in vivo and in vitro studies. The role focuses primarily on quantitative bioanalysis of in vivo samples, including developing bioanalytical methods, quantitating drug candidates and their metabolites, measuring endogenous biomarkers in biological matrices, and reporting high-quality data. Matrices may include blood, plasma, tissues, tumor, and CSF. The Scientist will provide bioanalytical support for pharmacokinetic (PK), PK/PD, efficacy, non-GLP toxicology, and in vitro studies. The role involves independently developing and qualifying LC-MS/MS methods, conducting sample analysis, and operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining LC-MS/MS and other analytical equipment. The Scientist will work closely with pharmacology, chemistry, and biology colleagues, participate in multidisciplinary project teams, and maintain accurate, detailed laboratory notebooks. This is an onsite contract position in Brisbane, California.

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent with 10 or more years of relevant experience, MS with 6 or more years of relevant experience, or PhD with up to 4 years of relevant experience in a discovery setting using quantitative LC-MS/MS within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.
  • Demonstrated experience in small-molecule biomarkers and drug-candidate bioanalytical assay development and quantitative sample analysis in complex biological matrices using LC-MS/MS.
  • Proven experience running and troubleshooting LC-MS/MS-based quantitative workflows on Sciex platforms and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal and external partners in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong team orientation, collaborative approach, solutions- and results-oriented focus, and a hands-on, resourceful approach open to diverse points of view.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in targeted protein degradation or heterobifunctional degrader platforms.
  • Extensive experience with H/UPLC and mass spectrometry.
  • Extensive experience with sample analysis supporting PK, PK/PD, efficacy, distribution, metabolism, and non-GLP toxicology studies.
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing quantitative LC-MS/MS-based assays for small molecules in complex biological matrices.
  • Experience reviewing result files and reports from bioanalytical contract research organizations.
  • Experience maintaining detailed, up-to-date laboratory notebooks and technical documentation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide bioanalytical support for in vivo PK, PK/PD, efficacy, non-GLP toxicology, and in vitro studies.
  • Develop and qualify bioanalytical methods for drug, metabolite, and biomarker analysis.
  • Independently develop LC-MS/MS methods to quantitate small molecules in in vitro and in vivo samples, and execute sample analysis.
  • Conduct quantitative bioanalysis of in vivo samples, including drug candidates, metabolites, and endogenous biomarkers in biological matrices.
  • Independently operate, troubleshoot, and maintain LC-MS/MS and analytical equipment.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary project teams and partner with pharmacology, chemistry, and biology teams to understand bioanalytical needs for PK support.
  • Report high-quality data and maintain accurate, detailed laboratory notebooks.
