Scientist 1, Bioanalytical

Nurix•Brisbane, CA
•$141,500 - $175,600•Onsite

About The Position

Nurix Therapeutics is seeking a motivated Scientist 1 to join its Bioanalytical team and support drug discovery programs involving in vivo and in vitro studies. The position focuses primarily on quantitative bioanalysis of in vivo samples, including developing bioanalytical methods, quantitating drug candidates and metabolites, measuring endogenous biomarkers in biological matrices, and reporting high-quality data. The role requires extensive experience developing bioanalytical methods and analyzing samples using LC-MS/MS and other analytical techniques. The Scientist will support in vivo PK, PK/PD, efficacy, and non-GLP toxicology studies, as well as in vitro studies. The role includes independently developing and qualifying methods, quantitating small molecules, operating and troubleshooting analytical equipment, and collaborating with pharmacology, chemistry, and biology teams. The position is onsite in Brisbane, California.

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent with 10 or more years of relevant experience, MS with 6 or more years of relevant experience, or PhD with up to 4 years of relevant experience in a discovery setting using quantitative LC-MS/MS within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.
  • Demonstrated experience with small-molecule biomarkers and drug-candidate bioanalytical assay development and quantitative sample analysis in complex biological matrices using LC-MS/MS.
  • Proven experience running and troubleshooting LC-MS/MS-based quantitative workflows on Sciex platforms and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal and external partners in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in targeted protein degradation or heterobifunctional degrader platforms.
  • Extensive experience with H/UPLC and mass spectrometry.
  • Extensive experience analyzing samples for PK, PK/PD, efficacy, distribution, metabolism, and non-GLP toxicology studies.
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing quantitative LC-MS/MS assays for small molecules in complex biological matrices.
  • Experience reviewing result files and reports from bioanalytical contract research organizations.
  • Experience maintaining detailed, up-to-date laboratory notebooks and technical documentation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide bioanalytical support for in vivo PK, PK/PD, efficacy studies, non-GLP toxicology, and in vitro studies.
  • Develop and qualify bioanalytical methods to support analysis of drugs, metabolites, and biomarkers.
  • Independently develop LC-MS/MS methods to quantitate small molecules in in vitro and in vivo samples and conduct sample analysis.
  • Independently operate, troubleshoot, and maintain LC-MS/MS and analytical equipment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and partner with pharmacology, chemistry, and biology to understand bioanalytical needs for PK support.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks.
