The Scientific Research Intern supports clinical research, quality improvement, and data-driven initiatives at Woman’s Hospital. The internship provides college students considering careers in science or medicine with practical experience in biomedical research and women’s health alongside research professionals, investigators, and clinical staff. Assignments depend on department needs, the student’s interests and skills, and applicable academic requirements. Opportunities may include clinical research, data collection and analysis, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and independent research projects. The program includes a core curriculum covering biomedical research fundamentals. With faculty and staff mentorship, interns have the opportunity to develop and present an independent research project, which may potentially be published. The internship runs from January 18, 2027, through May 21, 2027, in person at Woman’s Hospital’s main campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Work schedules are flexible to accommodate academic commitments, but interns are expected to maintain an agreed-upon schedule and communicate availability changes in advance. Some assignments require attending scheduled research activities, training sessions, or meetings. Compensation is $16.00 per hour for undergraduate students and $18.00 per hour for graduate students at the master’s level. Applications close November 30, 2026. Applicants must submit a current resume and cover letter; the posting recommends applying through Woman’s Hospital’s careers website so all required documents can be attached.
