About The Position

We are currently searching for a Scientific Program Analyst to support extramural research initiatives through data-driven analysis, portfolio management, and program evaluation to advance organizational priorities; conducts data collection and reporting to assess program effectiveness, inform strategic decision-making, and support the development and coordination of research programs. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Rockville, MD. Develop and improve procedures for leadership and program staff to implement tracking and reporting to gauge progress and identify gaps. Design, perform and complete research projects, apply scientific knowledge to each project, and provide a detailed summary of goals and scope, milestones, and go/no go decisions points. Partner with staff to conduct management and administrative analyses, evaluating procedures, policies, processes, and systems to improve efficiency. Analyze program activities, via internal systems and/or NIH systems, to identify issues and develop recommendations for improvement. Collaborate with staff to identify key issues and track action items and tasks, providing deadline reminders to Program staff and update and maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of TWO (2) year of experience working in business management, administration health, and/or community and public health settings.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Strong reporting skills, including data analysis, research and investigation, and written communication.
  • Ability to develop clear data visualizations and presentations that communicate findings effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Previous experience working with NIH preferred.
