About The Position

We are seeking a Scientific Program Analyst to support NIH’s Common Fund (Re-engineering the Research Enterprise) by strengthening project management, procedures, and change management. The role supports multiple large, complex initiatives with multi-tier governance, national partners, and multiple awardees, helping advance inclusive, high-impact biomedical and behavioral research. This is a full-time role based in Rockville, MD.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree.
  • Minimum of ONE (1) year of experience in clinical/medical services, research, public/community health, human services, or social sciences.
  • Strong writing and documentation skills (e.g., agendas, reports, manuscripts, policy briefs).
  • Knowledge of grants/funding mechanisms and Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs).
  • Experience with human subjects research compliance (IRB submissions, 45 CFR 46).
  • Research and analytic experience (e.g., epidemiologic/cohort/longitudinal studies; data collection; survey design/analysis; regression/portfolio/gap analysis).
  • Project management and strategic planning; able to build collaborations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust.
  • Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
  • Candidates with an active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of NIH grants and funding mechanism.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain project documentation and communications; track project progress using project management tools.
  • Organize and analyze reports in a scientific area as assigned.
  • Design, develop and maintain databases, Listservs, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and other computer applications.
  • Work with staff to identify key issues and track action items and tasks, providing deadline reminders to Program staff and update and maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.
  • Coordinate with strategic project leaders on the logistics annual in-person Committee meetings, monthly teleconferences or videoconferences, and additional teleconferences, videoconferences or electronic reviews to address key issues.
