About The Position

The Laboratory of Behavioural Neuroendocrinology at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Scientific Associate to support a research program focused on sex and gender differences in brain health, aging, mental health, and neurodegenerative disease. Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Scientific Associate will provide senior scientific support through the development and execution of research projects, preparation of competitive grant proposals, scientific manuscripts, reports, presentations, and knowledge translation resources related to sex- and gender-based analysis, preclinical neuroscience, and translational research. The successful candidate will contribute expertise in behavioural neuroscience, neuroendocrinology, and Alzheimer's disease research, including the application of preclinical models, behavioural approaches, and experimental methodologies to investigate disease mechanisms, cognitive function, and factors influencing resilience and disease progression. Responsibilities will include experimental design, data analysis and interpretation, advancing research methodologies, and supporting high-quality, reproducible research. The Scientific Associate will contribute to grant strategy, collaborative research initiatives, and scientific communication while providing mentorship and guidance to undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and research staff. They will support trainee development through guidance in experimental design, research methods, data analysis, scientific writing, and professional development, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes scientific independence. The successful candidate will maintain high standards of scientific integrity, research ethics, regulatory compliance, and reproducibility while remaining current with advances in behavioural neuroscience, neuroendocrinology, Alzheimer's disease, sex and gender science, and translational research methodologies. This position is primarily based at the CAMH 250 College Street Site, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements in accordance with operational requirements.
