Part-Time High Level Science Tutor Needed!
About The Position
Join our amazing team at San Antonio GradePower Learning and gain valuable teaching experience as a Part-Time Organic Chemistry and Bio Chemistry Tutor. We offer after-school and evening hours, as well as Saturdays. You must commit to working for at least the school year, as your students will come to rely on you. In this position, you will play a key role in helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem. The rewards of helping children overcome academic hurdles and realize their inner potential can be very fulfilling. You will be rewarded with smiling faces and high-fives during every shift.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- Strong command of both Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry.
- Experience with one-on-one tutoring or teaching.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
- Reliable availability and strong communication skills.
- Must commit to working for at least the school year.
- Must live in or within a short commute of the Hollywood Park/Stone Oak area.
Nice To Haves
- An advanced degree is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one tutoring in college-level Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry.
- Explain reaction mechanisms, synthesis, spectroscopy, biomolecules, metabolism, and enzyme function.
- Tailor each session to the student’s coursework, learning goals, and upcoming exams.
- Identify gaps in understanding and help the student develop independent problem-solving skills.
