About The Position

Port Huron High School is seeking a Science Teacher to join their team. This position involves planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities to facilitate active learning experiences and foster student achievement. The teacher will create and maintain an environment that supports student success, instruct students on the use of learning materials, and provide feedback on their progress. This role requires flexibility, innovation, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a professional environment.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching certificate
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree
Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
Be proficient in the use of technology.

Nice To Haves

Science endorsement preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.

Be flexible, resourceful, innovative and can effectively manage the design and execution of learning experiences, both formal and informal, that are very responsive to the needs of students and the context in which learning is taking place.
Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
